There are some nice Yahoo groups, too. One kind fellow on one of these even sent me a batch of live microworms to raise my first brood of halfbeaks. In the end I didn't need them, daphnia worked out fine, but this is the sort of priceless help that makes keeping "rare" livebearers a treat.
Right now, Ameca splendens and Xenotoca eiseni are quite easy to get hold of in the UK at least, and in other countries it should be possible to track them down through any one of the national livebearer clubs.
