Hello - just wanted to say I'm going away for a week in Bulgaria! So won't be around!! No need to worry - I haven't died from zoa poisoning!! :)

See you in a week!!

I hope everybody gets a present :D

What from Bulgaria? Unless you're after a pair of horsehair socks knitted by a 90yr old peasant woman with one eye forget it.........hang on that's a bit unfair you can also buy knock off clothing Hilly Honsen jackets and Rolph Leuren jumpers aplenty. You can also buy Milka chocolate, but I have yet to find anyhwere on the planet you can't.

Went there snowboarding, great place except for the lack of snow and dangerous lifts, marker posts and toilets
Cheap booze and some great local restaurants (never eat in a hotel in Bulgaria I think they are just testing the tourists to see what rubbish they will eat).

:) 50p a pint - can't beat it. Staying at Sunny Beach so we'll see how it goes!! A little concerned that the film Hostel is set there!

Have fun mate, by the way Hostel wasn't a film it was a docusoap about my holiday there.

when i saw the title i thought 'so they are finally locking him up!'

Haha!! Very true! Ok HG I'm pretty scared!! Lol.

Which airport you flying to? We went to a place called Plovdiv, boy what a great experience I have a shed in my garden with better amenitys (but my shed doesn't have an old lady selling horsehair socks and milka bars).
There was one big room when the corrugated iron door was slid to the left it was the arrivals lounge, when the door was slid to the right, (and the man with the scales on the trolley was there), it was the departure lounge.

The locals are really friendly and respond superbly if you know just enough Bulgarian to be polite, the strip joints are actually quite friendly even if the big Russian mafia guys don't look it, and the drinks were cheap even in there. (I only went once and yes my wife knows), most Hotels are clean and staff are well turned out and genuinely helpful. Taxi drivers can be pushy just be rude at the outset and get it over and done with (we were once followed for 2 miles by a taxi right to the door of our hotel where he then got annoyed as we hadn't got in, we told him his fortune and he was given a brief description of how life could be for him in the next few minutes if he didn't stop threatening us). Generally a great place mate you will have a fab time, Bulgarian holiday key words "Red wine" "vodka" "happy hour" "Russian girls" "late night kebabs" "sleep until 12".

Enjoy Lewis :good:

Dont think I will be going to Bulgaria, think I will give that one a miss!

Yeah, me too...

Have a good time at any rate, Lewiss. I don't think poisoning by zoas is the poisoning you'll have to watch out for...

I'm pretty sure Hostel was filmed in Bratislava Slovakia.

I know this because the gf is Slovakian and it angers her the film portrays it as a dump lol.

I'm sure Bulgaria will be fine :)
