I'm Getting Married!

Getting married, I'm sure it's gonna be worth it ... but wouldn't wanna do it twice!!

After how good a day it will be, and how fast that day will go, I reckon that by 29 May you will have changed your mind ;)

I'd take a wedding every year over an anniversary any day (were cost not an issue).

 How did I miss this?!

Congratulations E :D

I don't know, just being silly? Thank you!! =D

Regarding wanting to get married every year ... ermm, probably the day after. But for now, it's all driving me nuts.
Once I get married I get written out of my parents health insurance, but law says I have to have health insurance at all times or get fined. However, I can't get my own health care, because I don't work and don't claim benefits. Plus with me spending time in England the counsel seems to think I'll have to write myself out as living in Holland (Hello! I'm still there half my time!). Once I live in England, even though I'm Dutch, I can't get Dutch health insurance anymore (no offence, but it's just better than the NHS care).

Only way around it is to start my own company as a sole trader, or get Peter to do so in Holland, and draw a wage through that. That way I'd be able to get insurance. But who wants to think about setting up a branch off of their company in a different country when they're getting married?! Not me! Non the less, Peter has emailed the Chamber of Commerce today and we'll await their reply.

Tomorrow we'll go see the registrar here and make sure I'd even be allowed to get married here. Then in Feb I'll go back to Holland to get all the paper work sorted and brought over, hopefully then we'll be able to start preparing the 'fun' stuff instead.

Getting married every year, maybe ... but without all the legal work!

Just a quick update...

We went to the registrars office this morning to ask for some advice regarding what papers we'd need. The woman we incredibly nice and decided to let us take the 'declaration of marriage' or whatever you call it right there and then, without anything but an ID card on me. So it's now all pretty official, we're allowed to get married =D Well, sort of ... on the 14th of Feb we get to pick up the official papers to take in to the priests that will say he can perform the ceremony and wed us.

We'll go see the priest now on Friday to set a time, and then we can start booking flights over for my family and sending out invites =D We also found out yesterday that Peters aunt from Australia will fly over to England for the wedding, which is of course brilliant as well.

So so far, today everything has gone fantastic.

Oh dear, that sounds like even more fun =/ It turned out to be pretty easy for me because I'm already in the EU anyway. They made no fuzz what so ever, it's just sorting things out with the Dutch government now, which should work out once I get to talk to someone in the council where I live.

And yup, I'm getting married in England =)
