Im Getting Another Betta Fish

I already have one betta, his name is Rainbow.

But I wanna get another. I getting Fish-Fever. I have some bowls here, that I could use. I would just need to get some sort of cover for it though. I have everything...food, bowl, plants, gravel. (Anything else needed).

The only think I would need is the betta. Now a while back I was complaining how Im never aloud any pets. Like rats. Then my mom said. Well you can get a fish then. This was a while ago and Im not sure whether she said it jokingly.

What can I do to convince her to let me? I haven't asked yet but any advice?

Buy a new betta, and when your mom complains tell her: "At least I'm not on dope!". Hehe.. Heh.. H.. Alright, that wasn't funny. Seriously, just explain to her how beautiful bettas are. And how they can relieve stress and stuff. And they don't #### just anywhere. We don't really know your mom so I don't think any of us can give a good advice on this. But it's worth a try. Be careful, though.. You start with one betta.. Then two.. And before you know it, you've got twenty eight bettas with tiny little homes and without sufficient care.

First you have to bow and scrape and admit you are either lacking in certain ways or that you've made mistakes. ...unless your parents are New Age or hippie types then that won't work. There's nothing that softens the heart like remorse...just don't make it too severe and have it relate to your pets somehow. You might try "I know you wouldn't like to live with rats so I won't even ASK about those. I've developed a real big interest in Bettas, have been doing alot of reading on them and would like to get another one. I can pay for it and we have the equipment except a cover which wouldn't be hard to make or get".....You could point out that you can put the tank by the other one so the 1st has company etc etc. See, saying that you're never allowed pets has that whiney thing going on and has a demanding tone which just won't work. Ha ha. Hope you take this as being funny with a twist of truth.

What size tank is the betta you have now in? What size bowls do you have? For lids you can use plastic canvas and a desk lamp.

Rainbow is in a 2.5 gallon bowl. And so will the new fishie. Yep thats right I get to get a new betta!!!!!! Im so excited. But I have to wait till next weekend.
