I'm going to be getting a 75 gallon (maybe a little bigger) soon.

Would a Koi do well in a tank that size, with mollies and tetras, would it eat them, or would their individual needs be too different? I've kept many tetras before, but I'm new to mollies and I've always wanted to get a Koi from Japan. So I'm trying to figure what I want to do with my tank when I get it.

The Koi Is Horrible For Both.
The Only Fish (Besides Other Koi) That It Can Truly Live With Are Goldfish.
75 Is Good For Like 3-5 Koi Im Guessing Cuz They Get Kinda Big. I Would Maybe Go With Something Bigger Though (100+)For A True Koi Tank.
Also Plecos And Loaches Are OK. They'll Get Along But Are Not Guaranteed To Like Each Other. I Would Not Recommend Them.
So Overall Goldfish Are The Only Other Guaranteed Co-existant Fish For Koi

I'll probably just stick with my mollies and tetras then.

What about Dojo loaches? I hear those are friendly and do well with community fish.

I have seen koi kept in a seventy five with some oversized goldfish and the result was extremely disgusting... It was saint patty's day every-week (aka algae bloom in the water....) the koi were being wintered in the seventy five and awaiting a new pond... worst idea ever... and no amount of water changes could fix the algae bloom (even after the koi were removed, and the water emptied scrubbed out with borax and then refilled with water and a new set of convict cichlids). Koi are just far to large and produce way too much waste for a 75 gallon...

yup dojo/weather loaches are extremely friendly, mine come to my hand at feeding time and nibble on loach wafers from my fingers, they are awesome fish and highly under rated, if you do decide on dojo's you will need to make sure you have a fine substate like sand of very similar and also if you have rocks no lava types or stuff with jagged edges as they are scale less fish. they are also not keen on salt either so if you do have to use aquarium salt only use a maximum of 1/4 t-spoon per gallon

Hope this helps and please don't be put of them, they are very hardy little fish can grow to max 10" but more common 6-7" and they can live 10yr's plus
