Just a post to say thanks to all that have helped out with my queries setting up the tank.

Got the corys, neon tetras, bloody mary shrimp and clown killis in.

The corys are pretty mental they are flying up and down the side of the tank. Neons are doing fine. Shrimp look fine when I can find them and the clown killis I must have got babys cause they are tiny.

I got 8 clown killis and so far have only spotted 6 at one time. I think my water flow is too fast for them so not syre what to do about that as its a tank which

Clown killifish are one of the smallest species of killifish and most only grow to about 15-20mm long. Shops regularly sell them at 10mm long. They don't live long and most die within 12 months, some survive for 18 months.

Awesome thanks for that . The fish you bought will die soon

A lot of killifish are short lived fish. Some are referred to as annual fish as they only live a year-ish. Since the latin name for your killifsh is Epiplatys annulatus, it does suggests they are one of the short lived species, I'm afraid.

Make the most of them, they are lovely little fish :)

I agree with @Utar the corys will settle down, neon tetras like shade and will be stressed by bright light. They come from South American jungle streams with lots of shade. I have floating plants in my tetra tank to help shade them. One of their primary fears is birds so they like to stay under cover if they can.

Get fast growing floating plants. This will help chill the fish out. Lots of plants to hide in help too. They'll settle.

Got some water lettuce going its growing already. Fish seem to be doing well my water flow is too high i think though so I've had to scrap the air bubbler temporarily whilst I await a valve to control the movement plus a sponge to absorb the filter movement

Pseudepiplatys Annulatus
Common name: clown killifish, banded panchax

Origin: Africa

Max length: 1.5 inches (4 centimeters)

Lifespan: 3-5 years

Description: Clown killifish have bands of black and gold along their bodies. Their anal and dorsal fins are usually fairly small, but sometimes have stripes of bright red. Their tails are spade-shaped with a central stripe of bright red bordered by iridescent blue.

...conflicting views everywhere in this hobby

Since it seems that 'annulatus' refers to the rings rather than living a year , they may well live several years.

A valid guess to be fair. My only issue with them now is im pretty sure I've been sold all females as they aren't quite as vibrant as pictured, still nice just seem less colourful
