If I were to buy a used aquarium that had copper meds used in it at one point, would it be ok overtime after it leaches out of the sealant? Or would it leach for a long time(would I need to reseal it?)
It's my understanding that inverts are greatly affected by copper.

They are affected by copper and yes in theory copper can leech out of silicone. Yet so long as the seals aren't like solid blue I wouldn't worry too much. We're talking an exceptionally small amount of copper compared to the water volume of the tank. I can't imagine a tank with regular waterchanges would suffer from the minor amount of copper that might be in the silicone. This is espeically true of any tanks 20g and higher as the ratio of silicone to water goes WAY down. If you're worried, do a few few rinses of the tank with RO water before using it.

Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better.
