hiya

dont know if any of you on this post has read me he/she dilemma, but thanx to this post and my he/she one i am now sure i have bought a male betta imbellis (peacful betta) when i thought i bought a female normal betta.
i no longer think he is a plakat as pictures i have found on the web plakats front sabre like fins are much shorter than my fish. please tell me if i am wrong on the length of fins thing.

I believe the length of the front ventral fins has a lot to do with PH, personally.

Here's a plakat of mine with average length ventrals. When I bought his father,he had cute stubby little ventrals but after living with me,his ventrals grew quite long. All of his young have long ventrals too which leads me to my PH theory.
