If its ph then its around 8.0 if not then I don't have a test for it.

Your ph is fine, it's phosphate that needs to be zero and nitrAtes as low as poss (below 10 preferably )

Im assuming I will have to get a phosphate kit.
The reefer I got the rock from he said are you ready for corals yet and I said no but I still got them on the rock.
What lights would I need to get to upgrade and how deep will I have to dig into my pocket for them

Ahh PL compacts daylight/actinic!

Providing the lamps are new and the reflector and diffuser are clean then they'll be fine for most softies and a few lps (torch).

Phew that's good then all I need to do now is get a phosphate test kit. I think Ive seen the salifert test kits getting praised on here so I will most likely get one of them please correct me if im wrong.
