coconutman :-(

I'm so sorry that happened :/ I bought my deltas from bettatalk and within 2 weeks the male had a terrible rusty fungus on his head (not velvet), it spread all over his body and caused cloud eye.I've never dealt with a fungus before. I couldn't figure out why one betta out of many, who is on the same water change schedule, diet etc.., would get sick and not the other's. -_- :sly: Bad genes..

It eventually cleared up with daily water changes, bettamax and liquid minerals. -_-
Again, I'm sorry for your loss :(

I add this stuff called Concentrace Trace Mineral Drops to my fish water. I only use a minuscule drop because it's very high concentrate (like 2 drops in a 5 gallon bucket). It's for humans but it's beneficial to the fish too :) If you taste it, it taste like pure sea salt, it's basically a boiled down version of all the minerals you'd find in the sea. The bottle says (a list of minerals as long as my arm) and "The most powerful health giving trace minerals in the world".

I use that and colloidal silver in my betta water. :)

did you get it at a health food store?
now that i think about it, i know of several brands of liquid trace elements for fw fish...
is the human stuff cheaper?

Yeah, this came from a health food store. I get 2 oz for around 12 bucks, it lasts forever though. It's probably a lot cheaper and a higher concentrate than they would put in a fish aisle.

We're not hijacking, coconut, we're still sorry about your little guy :/

yeah i recently had my favorite betta die-i know how it feels :-(
wuv-do you just use it when your fish are in less than perfect health or do you constantly have it in the water?

I use it all the time, it's like mad science when I'm whipping up betta water :hey: I only use the silver when there's a problem on the rise, it knicks it in the bud.

thx every body, the female is really happy because she now has a full 5 gallon, but the plants had fungus on them so i had to throw them away. i dont think he ever could have survived. if it kills in less than 24 hours im pretty sure we couldnt do anything.

:-(

That shouldn't happen when you pay an arm and a leg for fish  I'm sorry it did! :/

stressed, putting in meds and stress coat right now so it should get better. now all i have to do is wait and see if the female gets it.
