Ok hi look new with the whole fish hobby so i have no idea what i'm looking for i noticed a couple of weeks ago wheen i got my fishthat my female was preggy now i think some thing is happening but every 0one is always saying that the fry usualy show up at night but my timer was unplugged so i just noticed that my tank light was offthen i saw somthing really small floating in the tank also how long can guppies be preagnant cause i think she was preggy when i got her. and if so than my male is not the daddy and so mabey i can keep a couple of the female fry cause a coupleof my other females got flushed
Look forward to hearing from some of you fish smarties
thanks  :p

If you bought her, she was probably pregnant. Guppies are almost always pregnant. :p

99% chance the babies are not from your male too. However, they probably mated, and you will have another batch of babies in about a month, which is how long they are pregnant for. :)

Best of luck with the babies!

thanks Annastasia
do you think i should keep a couple of females if apollo(my male) isn't the dad? also what about the during the day thing?
Thank again for the help

Um...only if you want tons of fry. Though, it will be much better then just having one female. Ideally, there should be 2-3 females per male. Otherwise, one female will get all the stress.

And when they give birth can be anytime. In the middle of the night, when you're taking a shower, eating your dinner..whenever their little hearts desire to give birth, is when it will happen. :)

Guppies often inbreed anyway, so I wouldn't worry about who the dad is. Inbreeding can cause some deformities in the fry, but these are often weaker and slower so don't make it to adulthood anyway. I'd keep the fry as long as you have enough space in your tank. ;)

Remember do not stop water change during this period of time because after give birth water quality will be kind of salty if u ask me just think about how much fry she just gave birth :). Also u have to watch out during water change u dont want to suck those little guy like fish poo .

ohh no!!! of course i didnt flush any of my fry arrow564 that i evil i totaly agree. i was just saying that my other females died so my dad flushed them for me
Sorry about the phrasing looking back i can see how you got the feeling!!!!
