Hello everyone!

I'm Sid. I've been into fish keeping for a number of years but the time has come where I don't have enough time to keep fish, unfortunately. :(

So I signed up to this site to sell all my fish, but it seems I can't post in the Classified section until I've got a certain number of posts.

No, I'm afraid not.

We are, primarily, a fish forum; things like chat and classified are there purely as an added bonus for long term members.

Aquarist Classified is your best bet, if you don't plan on staying here :)

Thanks for the info. I'll look into the other site as well.

Your classified rules say members need 60 posts before they are able sell anything.

That's correct 60 posts.  That's part of our 'vetting' process.  The biggest concern we have, no offense, is that we don't want people coming here just to sell things - partly because we don't know you... its hard to trust someone who comes to the board and immediately starts selling.  There's a certain amount of skepticism about that...

We aren't a sales site.  We are a community who discuss fish topics, have some fun and get along.  The chat, the classifieds, the competitions are just side bits of this community.  Primarily, we are here to advise, commiserate, discuss all things fish (and even some other topics).

I've been a browser of this site prior to joining it. Plus, no one is forced to take interest or even go ahead with any purchase. It's everyone's own individual choice.

But I do understand where you're coming from and I shall try to be a regular member of this community. :)

Btw, how can I get email notifications for replies?

At the top of the page you'll see a button called "Follow this topic".  From there you can decide how frequently you want to be notified, from instantly to weekly.

That's already selected by default.

Is it?  Its not the default for me.  In that case you should be getting updates.  If you are not, check the settings under your name at the top of the screen.  Select "My Settings" then select "Notification Options".
