So last night I decided to move my betta Beam out to the living room. I set up a tank for him and realized I was out of dechlorinator so i grabbed a bottle of stress coat and used that. Well, I put him in his new tank and he was acting funny. After an hour I noticed he had some little burns on his body. He had been in a dimly lit tank so I figured I just hadn't noticed these little imperfections, and didn't really think anything of it.

So just now I am out in my fish room and I noticed my stress coat was out there  I came back inside and I saw next to his tank Stress Zyme which by the way does not decholrinate water. Poor Beam, I gave him chlorine burns  He is fine today though and very active. I gave him some salt and I think he will be ok, but I feel so bad! :-(

Just thought I'd share and give a reminder to take a good look at the bottle before you add anything to your tank

Poor Beam! Sorrell, I'm sure everyone's made a mistake similar to that before, it's just a part of being a fish parent! At least he's Beam's doing alright now though :)

Yikes! Glad you got it all sorted out, though. I'm sure he will be fine. Tell him "Now you know the punishment that awaits if you ever jump out of the tank".

My mistake: When I had my two GSP years ago, I fed them pellets for the first week and didn't know why they wouldn't eat.. :p
