So, there's a new little mermaid live-action film coming out soon and a new poster has been released and I've seen on Twitter that its making a few waves in the scientific world. How many bloopers can you spot in this official version of the poster, as a little hint I know of 4 already! 2 are absolute howlers...

The big one is that the mermen and mermaids are all human on the top half, which is not the real thing.
I was talking about the fish Gary! But if you look closely you'll notice the lady in the background has octopus legs...

Well since no one wants to play - there is an Arapaima in the bottom right corner and underneath it is a Green Terror. The crab to her side is a land crab and even though it is set in the Indian Ocean there are fish from all over the world in there.

Good eye. I could barely see the images. I see the arapaima now, and the mermaid still has a head. So that's inaccurate.

The only time I ever met an arapiama it tried to eat me. We humans aren't used to being seen as food - it was memorable.

Was the movie shot in Florida? That could explain the surreal mix of species....

I think it is an euphemism called artistic licence.......or (for those not aquainted with the arts)...a jolly fun excuse to stick all sorts of things that would never be found together on the same page or poster for commercial use.

There is far more controversy over the female lead actress, Halle Bailey, being allegedly "whitewashed" on social media than what creature mix is on the publicity imagery.
