Im A Bit Worried

My boy betta, Benny, has developed a weird white/grey scalely growth between his eye and gills. Its round, with the centre area appearing normal colored (though thats hard to tell since hes a dark red colour) and is about 4mm in diameter. i went to my LFS on the weekend, and they seemed to think it was just some weird wart growth, though it has grown in size since then and was originally just a white scalely blob.

Ben shares a divided tank with two other boys, all of who look fine. He's been swimming around like normal, eatting, flaring and just acting like a normal male betta. Any ideas on what it is and if its treatable? the divided tank is heated and filtered, should i isolate him? i could swoop him with my female who has her own heated and filtered tank.

You would get a faster response some times in the emergency forum. I don't have a clue.

Sorry your response is slow. All the folks who could help may be out, that's why the emergency forum is good. They have some on all the time.
