I was giving away my tiger barbs as I wanted to change to a peaceful community tank as they did not get on with my cories. I've found someone who wants them, however recently three of them are struggling to stay in the water, they are constantly swimming down to avoid floating. This happend a week ago and then they lost it. a few days just two of the orginal that had it, got it again for about a day and it went. It's back today and i'm supposed to be giving them away soon, I don't want their fish to get whatevers wrong with these ones. I haven't checked the water parametres but will post them here in a minute. It's a 160 litre with 5 cories, 3 mollies and 7 tigers abd I do about 15 to 20% water change each week. I can also upload a photo if it may help.

Best advice I can give is to cut their feeding by at least half. Tiger barbs will literally gorge themselves if given half a chance. I have to be very careful how much I feed mine.

they're pretty thin for tiger barbs I think, as i've seen photos of other people's and they look double the size of mine. Here's a video of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2S4aCDMEv8&feature=plcp I recently thought i'm not feeding enough.. but i'm not sure.

(also are those peppered cories in your photo, they look quite long for normal cories :) )

They don't look to thin for me. Have you tried feeding them blanched deshelled peas? It helps them keep from getting constipated.

The photo in my signature are schleromystax barbatus. Related to cory, but they're different because the males and females have different coloring.

Feeding them a small pinch just now, I think it might be because they're gulping lots of air.. I used to sink their flakes as they were nicer to watch swimming through the water eating but recently I just started leaving flakes for them to get at the top because I got mollies who eat from the surface. Watching them just now, one has just become fat and struggling to stay beneath the surface. This looks like what's happening but I don't know if it's a silly siggestion! I'll give em' some peas now.

Just googled them, they're lovely looking fish. :)
