Unfortanately she has died, I popped out to the shop. When I got back she was dead....

But over the weekend I have noticed small fluffy white spots appearing on my black balloon molly?? Could this be whitespot??

Most likely, can you post a pic?
What are your water stats? And what other fish do you have in the tank?

Stats are fine, other than a trace of nitrate. But I added some bacteria to counteract that.... about 3 teenage mollies, 1 baby, Cory an a plec.

I notice the clarity of the water was tinted too, so Ive just done a 40% change, and gave the molly a salt bath.... her fins have perked up, instead of being compressed...

Also give the tank a intensive vac, juggled everything about, and churned the gravel and added about 1/2 teaspoon salt per gallon.... according to a website I found can stop fungus grow???

The water clarity now looks a lot better!

When you say 'fine' what do you mean exactly? :)
What's your pH and water hardness, and how much is 'a trace' of nitrate? :)
You may be able to stop fungus growing (but I doubt it, salt never worked for me), but it's better to solve the cause not the symptons :good:.

Columnaris has many disguises it can still present itself in spots, but not salt size spots, sometimes they will have a spot in the centre, or a tinge of red on the outside of the spot.
