Any idea's what this is, bottom right corner of pic.... She's had compressed fins for days now, and the wound seems to be getting bigger!

maybe it could be the water quality because they need very good quailty water. i have a babie black molly and 2 balloon bellys molly.

how often do u change ur water?
how many fish are in there?

Bad strain of columnaris it can rot the flesh away.
Need to start medicating fast myxazin and pimafix.
Turn temp down by two degrees and increase aeration in the tank.

Is it that big white area on the molly? If so, Looks like fungus to me.

Yes and no, the white area is the colour of the molly, it's a dalmation.... I'm more concerned about the wound, silver inside showing scales and her compressed fin's.

Change 1/3 of the water every 1 to 2 weeks, and treat with stress zyme an stress coat.

But the rest of the fish look fine?? I noticed one of the younger baby/teen molly has been pecking away at her wound also??

Need my eyes testing the fluffy white bit I saw was on some wood.
The white on the fish is it fluffy or bleached out.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.

It's definately not fluffy, guess you could say bleached out, scales look fragile. Havent noticed any flicking or rubbing.... she's just hanging around mid tank, with compressed fins!

The symtoms you are describing can be parasite to bacterial.
I think I would take the bacterial route for now if the fish isn't flicking.
Water stats would be good.
Mollies do better it brackish water, but it depends on what other type of fish you keep.

I need to get some new testing gear, Ive get some stats then. I keep a cory so I cant really add salt, I still have some parazin left over from the anchor worm infestation. Suppose I could drop a tab in, if I notice any parasites??

Have to get a bacteria med while Im there... Cheers!!

I would try the bacterial med first.
Good luck.

Do you know what caused the wound in the first place? Or did it just kind appear?
When you get your water stats, you should note that in freshwater mollies need very low nitrates compared to other fish, also check your pH, since corys and mollies have pretty much exact opposite preferences (though corys are more adaptable than mollies). Also, not really the issue here, but corys should be kept in groups :).
How long have you had mollies in that tank?
The suggested bacterial medication should be tried before anything for parasites....
Some parasite medications could just worsen the situation :good:.

I agree with kpintheshed. Mollies need salt or really clean water, or else they'll get ich, fungus, ect....

I agree on the salt, but didn't mention it because it just starts the neverending "salt debate" every time I do (even though I successfully use it in all my tanks, and with several non-molly species as well, including cories). But, I never said that!
