If You Have Moonlight, You Need Glofish

Yeah I don't think they look nice at all.

I am actually surprised at the guy who runs it, he's quite good in other ways.

i don't see how not buying dyed fish is good.
if anything, your taking them out of the deplorable LFS conditions and putting them into your tank with much better conditions.
you should buy them if you ask me. atleast you can make their lives better

Cuz for every one you buy two more arrive at the shop to be sold. For every dyed fish that makes it to a shop about 8 others died in the process. So no buying dyed fish is not good at all and should be avoided at all costs if you wish for the best of the fishes overall.

Glofish are meh IMO. The science behind them is neat. Not something I would EVER own in my tanks. BTW they are not natural at all. They were artificially made in a lab via means that would never be possible in nature. I'm fine with this, just not something I would keep. Looks fake, looks silly, and looks absolutely annoying.

so youd rather the dyed fish dying in the LFS with a short life or in your tank with a better one?
i agree that i think the process is terrible, but once they're made, they're made and theres nothing you can do about it.

But your buying the one fish condemns to death at least 10 other fish to the same process. The process is indeed terrible. Once they are made they are lost causes to this hobby. Buying them provides profits to the dyed fish industry and thus this is why there are dyed fish. If people were wise enough not to buy them in the first place they would stop the practice. The money you pay for that fish tells the shop these fish are good source for profit and the money trail leads all the way back to the people who died the fish and only encourages them.

I would rather the dyed fish died in the shop with a short life then to condemn other fish to the same process. Once they are made the only thing you can do about it is to not buy them and inform others to do the same.

Agree that dyed fish should not be purchased. I disagree with people who say that Glofish are wrong. Transgenic organisms could certainly cause environmental problems if not carefully vetted, but I think Glos are an example of a "safe" modification that has had time to prove itself safe to US ecosystems and not cruel to the animal itself..

Most living things we consume are genetically alter, meat, vegetables, garden plants, everything and most people without a problem, those things are made to make life easy and to help preserve and improve species, this is not exactly the case with glofish, but a lot o people in here simply don't find then OK, but enjoy a nice angus meat steak.
