Another filter query, I'm afraid. What would be the benefit from removing the internal filter from my Juwel 180 and replacing it with the best external that money could buy? Which one would that be? Would there be any benefit in replacing the present internal with a reasonably priced external? Again, which one? I am more interested in the reasons for change than the price. I don't have messy fish at the moment.

You lose the ugly black box in the corner of the aquarium, you get a more effective filter that doesn't tend to accumulate ddetritus at the bottom, and you get far easier (and less frequent) maintenance.

Thats exactly what i did with my Juwel tank, first day i had the tank i ripped the box out and replaced with an Eheim Canister.
