Its all psychology -

In a LFS its quite normal to pay abit over the odds, and I expect that.
From a private seller I'm looking for, and expecting a bargain ....

Otherwise I'd go to the LFS with the reputation to keep, and the accessability to go back if there's a problem.
You take a risk with a private seller and the price needs to relect that.

beechey- You could actually put a Sev in if you had the space. Sevs are peacful except during breeding.

In the USA, I would pay for vinny as much as I would pay for the rip-off 4" Silvers at the LFS,
$70-$80. Anyone mind converting to quid or E?

$70 = 43 pounds

i mean like like weather he has good colour as severums go as ive not seen that many

ok cool no worries. just remember sevs as any other fish will colour more as they grow and develop. all i did was pick the best looking 1 out of the 3 they had in lfs at the time

As mentioned in beecheys thread, that is one amazing sev you have there mark, it shows that the owner is a sound fishkeeper and knows his shizzle, well done mate.

Also id pay upwards of £50 for that severum however i doubt id ever see a fish of that quality in a LFS =-)

wow high praise indeed not really much i can say to that apart from thanks . altho to be fair he was carefully chosen from decent quality stock from day 1 so all ive done is grow him bigger really

sorry had to ask cos lots of people get em for tanks that aint big enough, but yep i rekon yours is just about big enough
