If I Had It To Do Over Again.

I would get 15 cardinal tetras, a pearl gourami and 6 panda corydoras. I love my tank but knowing what I know now.... I love schooling fish. I went to the Newport Aquarium yesterday and saw this tall tank with about 100 cardinals, disceses, hatchet fish and angels that was just stunning and totally doable at home just on a smaller scale and prolly without the disces. I WOULD LOVE THAT!!! It also had some awesome shrimp in the ground plants.

I think everyone has a "dream" tank in mind.  Personally, I have about a dozen!

I love schooling fish too.  I am the only one I know (in real life) who likes small schooling fish.  Everyone I talk to that's into fish keeping prefers a few big fish over a lot of small fish.  People have called my rummy noses a waste of money.

I want a 10x2x2 tank (more manageable if not too deep or wide and not wanting too big a fish!) with a nice sized shoal of a microrasbora species, maybe boraras merah... could fit a fairly nice sized shoal in the tank I think!
 
Mind you, that will be secondary to my 20 x 4 x 8 tank for my shoal of pinnate batfish!

But in reality... I would go for less fish so I could watch them more individually.  I would like a few honey gourami one day... maybe a few other fish but maybe not.

LOL Right! I am definitely getting the MTS! I have 2 FW and one SW tank and in my head planning a third FW. I just have to figure out how to get more money!

I have got MTS and although i only have two tanks, i didnt really have it when i only had one, but a family member offered me theirs so i grabbed it and.....well....Yep, i want more tank..... -.- hahaa

i agree as im learning more about the fish and buying them i wish i went a different route too.  now i like the fish i have so i cant get rid of them
