identify this algae?

hello all,
i have begun to notice alot of brown colored algae on my filter cartriges and along the base of my decorations? can anyone lend a hand to identify this stuff and perhaps give me an idea on how to avoid it?

... in my tank .. a new set up ... now about 7 weeks .. I have a "brown" algae that I ID'd as Diatoms ... not to be confused with true Brown Algae.

Do you have a microscope ??

Now there is also a fuzzy material that early on started growing on my ornaments .. I'm not sure yet what that is .. will have to look at some under the scope. My gravel is now turning brown !!!!

Any ideas anyone ??
