This was attached to piece of wood. When under water it appeared. Outside the tank it is green. Is this string algae.

The tank was deep cleaned yesterday. The decor was removed, washed, and a gravel vac done.

Ten gallon am 0 no 0 and ma under 10 before the gov and 4 gallon wc.

Looks like algae to me...

It looked like white hair in the tank. I was pretty sure it was algae after Remioving it. The white though me off and the fact it seems to have grown in 24 hours.

looks like hair algae or thread algae, both caused by too much nutrients. (too much light, overfeeding, etc)

I was also hinted that if you have too much wood to water ratio that it could cause too much algea growth. I have bad green hair algea in my small 5 gallon with a large peice of wood in it. The reasonsing for it is due to the wood decaying and producing nutrients needed to sustain the algea.
