Ok. This platy was in a tank with some others, but the only ones like it were all white, and this one's white with spots like a dalmatian molly. However, it is NOT a molly. I think. Can someone help?

Hi!

My LFS sells white platies with black dots as "Black&White" platies. They look like dalmation mollies in colouring. They vary in the amount of black dots.

Perhaps this is a closely related colouring (all white) and one wound up with the spots remaining that were meant to be bred out.

Just a thought.

it might be a mickey mouse Platie

or it could be a Tuxedo Platie

Yeah i agree with Ddraig Goch, looks like a black/white calico platy- calico is just a name thats given to the patterning of dots, you can find calico platys in many different colors :) .

No, it's not a mickey mouse. Ya wanna hear something stupid though? I have another platy that is red with some black on its tail and I was about to describe it to someone when I realized, duh, it has a mickey mouse on its tail and its a mickey mouse platy. For some reason I never put two and two together before then, and I had been wondering what that meant, too... -_-

A store near me sells those as salt and pepper platties regardless of colour.

Most likely a Calico Platy. Bear in mind that the amount of speckling does vary.

I did look at that pic, but that platy is almost clear, and mine is pearly white with black spots...dunno...
