Hey guys i got these not too long ago, can someone tell me what they are please:

Iam going to have to get rid of them, they are doing some serious nipping to my fully grown angel pair, they wont go anywhere near the male but they keep nipping the female. My LFS doesnt take fish back, and with only one other tank that is coldwater i can't do anything about it. so its hopefully someone lives close enough to me to take the off my hands (although its a long shot).

Thanks Simo

look like gold barbs to me, very nippy if not kept in big groups

Spot on thanks.

I don't know what to do with them, I had 6 but lost one, the five have been getting along fine and have only started nipping recently, I doubt anyone would be willing to come to my house to pick up five of them, and my LFS doesnt take fish back. :S

Near Burton Upon Trent In Staffordshire. I'll post in the cassifieds, thanks

I kept these barbs for years (some of of my first fish!) they lived a loooong time, and never had a problem with them getting nippy with the general mixed stock.

One thing to note is that the nomenclature denotes two seperate species/sub-species (dependent on text) schuberts barb and golden barb.

They are frequently grouped and seperated, and unfortunately the work has not been done to 'officially' classify them together.
