Ideas to stock 60 gallons

Currently, I have a 10 gallon tank containing a female betta and 5 neon tetras. The fish all appear peaceful with each other, no aggression, just some neons chasing each other in small bursts. However, my dad got a 60 gallon tank for the living room and I'm thinking of putting them in the 60 gallon because I presume they would be happier in the larger tank. I'm not sure how to stock the rest of the tank, so I'm looking for suggestions. My family wants to see larger, colorful, visible fish and I want to make sure my current fish will be alright co-existing with some other maybe larger species. Im also open to not-as-expensive heater choices that would work well and-as I hope to establish some plants to help water parameters- some plants that grow on plain gravel. Although, I have some gorilla super glue gel and I'm wondering if that's safe to use to attach plants like java fern and Anubis to ornaments . Increase your school of neons to 12 or more, a large school is stunning in a tank. Other larger tetra species are really good too. I personally like blushing tetras but they aren't super colorful.

Gorilla super glue would be fine to attach plants to ornaments. Hold plant to ornament for about 2 minutes after applying the glue. Just let it set for about 20 minutes before putting into tank. Do not use excessive amount of superglue.

Another nice fish that goes nicely with neon is glow light tetras (I have 10) I have attached Java and African water fern to ornaments without any problems like @Fishmanic explained. I have my tetras in a 55 gallon tank, they like room to swim.

Yes. Sometimes other similarly shaped or sized tetras will shoal with other tetras.
Black neons glo lights rummynose which form very tight shoals, ive even had von rios which are different shape than neons shoal with neons.
As for larger fish, bolivian rams do well with tetras if you wanted a pair of those they can get about 5 inches full grown.

As for gorilla glue im not sure its aquarium safe as it may contain substances thatvcan be harmful over time. There is a safe aquarium glue that works.

I really like smaller loaches. My khuli loaches are active non hiders who love climbing plants like miniature pythons. They’re also a fairly healthy critter that does well in groups. They’d do fine with either a betta or neons.
Though I bet that betta would like ruling the 10 by himself.

Agree, without knowing these things, we can't give you stocking ideas. We have to follow what your GH and pH are. If you don't have the right requirements for the fish you have now, you may have to take them back, so don't add anything until we know your GH and pH.

I agree, not SURE about GG gel But , Original Super Glue Brand GEL works fine!

You could look into a few discus. They are passive and a bigger colourful fish.

And gets rid of the neons. Discus need warmth, above 80F (28 C) and neons will wear out fast this warm. Not knowing the tank dimensions, discus may not work anyway; this is a shoaling fish that should have five or six minimum and that requires a 48-inch (120 cm) length tank.

If it helps, the tank is a marineland 60 gallon(48Lx13Wx25H inches)
So since we just recently got the tank and just built the stand today(there's no water in it yet) I still need more supplies and to start cycling the tank. I'm afraid I'm still very much a beginner and rely on my parents for money for supplies, and I have not gotten a water kit. I'm sure my family have had fish before but didn't have these modern commodities nor the fish available here, so they they're not too aware of water parameters, cycling etc. My family is more aimed at aesthetics and I don't think my dad intends on returning the tank. Though next time I'll try to get a test kit if possible and start researching more deeply into water parameters. Thanks for any suggestions for better quality of life for the future potential fish.

Look at tetra safe start plus for cycling you 60 gallon tank, it is easy. I silent cycled my 30 and 55 gallon tanks and like to do it that way (natural) But when I helped my bother-in-law do his 20 gallon we used tetra safe start plus and it worked nicely and a lot easier and faster than what I do.
