Congratulations on your Siamese Fighting Fish! When it comes to Bettas, remember that they originate from the warm, shallow waters of Southeast Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.). Thus, they thrive in water that is relatively warm (between 77-80 degrees). When it comes to caring for a Betta fish, note that they must come up to the surface of the water to breathe, which is why they must always have access to the surface of the water. While you can house your Betta in a regular type of fish tank, you can also house him in a bowl-type of Betta Fish Tank.
