hello all,
a question i would like to ask is-what is the ideal temperature for a comunity tank?

i have a 5 foot comunity tank that houses bala's, angels, plecs, gourami's, pictus catfish and a few more. its been up and running fine for a while at 28 deg c , then i had a prob with my heater and when i replaced it my new heater has been set at 26 deg c so i left it at that and the fish seem fine!

any idea's, if 26 is o.k then i will leave it at that as it will be cheaper to run :good:

Depends, even some community fish require different temperatures. For example, common Corydoras species which are regarded as community fish will generally not tolerate temperatures exceeding 24 degrees C. If you regard Discus as community fish then they require temperatures of about 28-32 C. It really does vary, although I consider the optimum temperature for the majority of community staples to be in the region of 24-27 C.

Regards,
Mike
