Ok, I hate doing my water changes by emptying one 10 liter can at a time, and then going and filling it up one can at a time to do water changes.

So I was thinking... I could get a manual water pump, something like this pump

I would then attach hose long enough to reach all tanks and then pump out from all tanks, in one go (obviously getting the other half to move the hose from tank to tank)

I then fill the bath (after giving it good rinse) with water needed, treat water, reverse pump and fill all tanks.

Sound like a good idea?

Why not just add the water de-cholrinator to the water as you fill the tanks ?!? That's the way I do it with my Python.... ;)

Python?

I use a ph down for some tanks to get the ph the same as that to which I am adding the water, as I would not want to add water, then adjust.

So may as well do all treatments at the same time.

Have you seen THIS?

I made ont the other day and it works a treat and is quite cheap as well :D

So does that system pump water straight in without the ability to treat it first?

Yeah I just attach straight to the tap to refill - any water treatment is added to the tank prior to refill

As most treatments are x amount treatment for x amount water being treated, do you put enough treatment for the whole tanks volume, or just for the volume being changed?

I will get a rough "diagram" of what I plan to do some time this weekend.

What I am looking for is some kind of directional valve, which will allow two separate in/out fittings, which could be set to either of the in/out puts or off. Does that make sense?

Also, I can find manual pumps (will stick with manual) with 25mm connections (bilge pumps for boats) are there connections which will allow me to connect a normal hose pipe to that?

As you can tell, I am no DIY guru!

I t tends to vary depending on how much hassle I'm getting at the time but it's usually enough for the volume going into the tank + a tad more for luck :D

Eheim do a range of Hobby Pumps which can work in or out of water and are excellent for both emptying and refilling aquariums.
