can i have a pic of the fish in its new home please

You got it.  AND I want you to know, this has been a 2 HOUR project.  This fish is SO shy, after being in a vacant office alone for an unknown time!  I had to sit and wait, and wait and wait!

I have close to 100 shots like these:

This is the reflection!  This fish LOVES to stare at this reflection, in this particular corner.

So then I put my hand in to get this vid.

Of course, while I've been sitting here setting up this reply, I am across the room, and the fish is drifting back and forth as it has done all day.  GEESH!  I think in time, this fish will get use to movement outside the tank.  Fish now has a name: Skye.

Thanks!  Nope, not harlequins, mine aer lamb chop rasboras - espei.  When I was reading online, I liked these better.  The tank has a few danios, and 10 cory cats.  Dunno about a pair, lol.  One fish at a time!

a gourami is relativly easy to keep will nip the fins of a new guppy or fancy tailed fish on the first day but will leave it alone eventualy very slow moving fish i love them

That is good to know!  What / how do I feed it, please?  I read it nibbles all day long on algae etc.  This is a fairly new tank, set it up Feb 21st, not much algae in there.  I've been breaking an algae wafer and adding that.  Today I also put in the once a week Hikari brine square, which it may enjoy.  (This is frozen food; first I put some tank water in a small cup, add the cube and let it melt, then put that in the tank.  Info provided as I'm not sure if you have this in UK).

Been 2 days and it is already calmer (when I am not near the tank) and drifting happily about the tank.  Just saw it 'kiss' the gold mystery snail.  Ooh-oh, I read these can eat the slime coat off others and thus they die.  He best leave my snail ALONE!

Thanks for the info, links and quick response.

Just been reading about feeding rings for gourami, sounds like a neat idea!  I plan to use one.  Also read these like peas (shelled) so will add one as well.

Thanks for the vid, had not found that.

I did see they grow 8 to 12 inches long.  Whoa!    What the vid does not mention - they easily live 20 YEARS!  In the right tank conditions, of course.

For now, this one is alright, it is 4 to 5 inches (10.16 to 12.7 cm), in a 50 gallon / 189.27 litres.  Going to give it some time to settle in and adapt.

Some sites list them as aggressive; some as semi aggressive; some as peaceful.  Geesh!    Seems if they are in small quarters they can be aggressive. Also, they can harass another pink gourami to the point of death.  So I'm going to stay with just this one for now.

My tank is still a bit cloudy; learned I've been over feeding (before I got the gourami) so working to get that under control.
