ID the Cory

Hi ravekiss :)

That's good news and I'm glad to hear it. If you can feed him on live or frozen blackworms, tubifex or bloodworms, the good protien will help him recover and grow new tissue too. It will also be easier for him to eat than the hard wafers.

If you watch your other corys you will see how they use their barbels to eat and understand the problems he will have until they start to regrow. They are truly amazing things. :D

If you have any MelaFix, it wouldn't hurt to add some to the tank too. It's a mild anti-bacterial and can sometimes be helpful.

I do have Melafix & Pimafix. If I start adding some tonight, will it be ok for me to skip Friday, Saturday, & Sunday? I'm leaving Thursday night, so I'll add before I leave. I'll be back by afternoon Monday too. I have frozen bloodworms I'll thaw and get some to the bottom for him and the other 5 corys. Sounds good?

Hi ravekiss :)

That sounds good to me. I would suggest doing a good water change and cleaning as close to the time you are leaveing as possible. Add a dose of the medicine then too.

MelaFix and PimaFix are mild. They might do some good, but won't do any harm. Interupting a treatment with antibiotics like Kanacyn could cause harmful bacteria to mutate into forms that are resistant to the medicine, so that's why I don't think using that is a good idea now.

Good luck with him. Please let me know how he does with the bloodworms. :D
