I was wondering if anyone could help me remember the name of the fish i'm about to describe.....
They have a body shape a little bit like a bosami rainbowfish. Their body colour is neon blue when full grown. Males have red fins and females have yellow fins.
This is really the best description i can give. The shop attendant told me the name but i forgot it.....

Now that is something i wasn't told..... I did abit of reasearch aswell but most sites said they were fine in pairs... And that a pair lived fine in a 2foot tank.

They are in a 2ft tank with:
4x guppies(1 male, 3 females)
3x otocinclus
3x male cories(going to a new home)
4x threadfin rainbowfish.

Rainbowfish aught to be kept in a 3ft minimum ideally as they are active swimmers, which has been mentioned. They do better in groups, although the dwarf neon (praecox) can be kept in pairs in smaller tanks, as i've heard. Experienced keepers of rainbows may have differing opinions. Its always up for debate.

All together i now have 6 rainbowfish.
4 threadfin, 2 dwarf neon. Threadfins only get to about 1" (same size as male guppy) They have been in the tank for about 3 weeks - 1 month now and have deffo got some colour on them. One has red and blue on him and the others have a little bit of red. They all have lovely long fins now. The dwarf neons have been in since friday and have grown abit as well as got some colour.

Sensitive to PH and water chemistry and stuff?

The thing is my PH is 6.4 and my water is very clear as i have fluval 2 plus internal running on the tank with weekly water changes of 25%. Also they are shoaling with the threadfins..... I'm guessing this is because there's only 2 of them.
I really would like to keep them. They have loads of room and they seem to have be-friended just about any fish in the tank(except the cories which don't like anyone because they are grumpy old men)
