Sterba's have white spots and a black body and Haradschultz's have dark spots and a light body color.

i have the same exact fish but when i moved him into my bigger tank with sand he lost his color and got more green my friend just says he is heathyer but im not sure

That's interesting - do you have pics?

Cap'n - they're Sterbais then :good: Thanks for the info - I must've been a bit braindead not to work that out from the pics I was looking at *lmao*.

those are definately sterbai not haroldshultzi.. and i think your mystery cory is in the elegan type family.. not melanotaenia.. the body is too deep to be melanotaenia.. compare them to the pics that someone posted of the C93.. i don't think they are them.. but the body type is right on..

I'm not sure I agree - the elegans lot tend to have big fat bodied females and slender little males (from what I've read). Whatever we've got, and whatever sexes they turn out to be, are longer and slenderer than the elegans lot, and the shorter two of the three are fatter, the longer one is very long and slender. I also thought all the elegans lot were marked/mottled? Even the female C93s have mottled heads.

Oh, those pictures make them look like sterbais! the other one with the cory in the bachround made it look like a Haraldschultzi!

Anyway, I agree with Rez I think they are Melantoneia (sp?)

Thanks Cap'n :)

I think it's definitely a Sterbai in that pic you saw first too, the only other possibilities being trilins and a sodalis, but I'm going to have another look at the pic to be sure :D

Definitely one of the Sterbais in that pic too.

not sure if these breeds had been suggested yet, but here goes:

Corydoras Zygatus

or

Corydoras Eques

I found pictures of these in my book: 'Dr Axelrod's Mini Atals of Freshwater Aquarium fishes' (ISBN: 0-86622-385-1)

Just thought I'd post these suggestions :D

*Oops they have been suggested already /me runs to hide

OK, the original fish in this thread I do not believe they are female C89 (= C93), the fish pictured here lack the dark on the top. Attached are two pictures of two different Female C89 (and a male), the female that shows the bar on top was taken when the fish decided to stop, the other picture was a female I startled to show the color range of the females.

Sorry for the poor pictures, I read this thread yesterday and remembered to take pictures this morning and only had about three minutes, these are the best I got.

Thanks for the pics - they're lovely :)

I'll see if I can take more pics of my three in the next couple of days and post them up again :)

Just thought I'd post a picture of my group, I have nine but could only get eight while cleaning their tank this morning (that is why the tank has nothing but sand)
