Ick! No

hi. i have discovered ick on my bala shark & ick on a gold sailfin molly (rip 3/10/09) i dropped a few pennies in & raised the temp to 82ºF. I have two fish not effected: my prized koi angel & my electric yellow. they i love and don't want anything to happen to. please help

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Not sure if adding pennies work it a very old method. I would ask in tropical disscussion.

no ammonia, nitrate 20ppm, nitrite 0, ph low, causing ammonium



actually other than the fact he seems to be darting around the tank (the bala shark) he doesn't look stressed. i think he has been eating, and swimming a few inches from the surface with the angel

will the pennies kill my fish?

Bala sharks needs 90 gallon tanks.
They shouldn't be kept on there own, they need to be kept in no less than a group of 3 as there a shoaling fish.

I would remove the pennies and add a whitespot med. Make sure you can use the full dose with the fish you keep.
Increase aeration with the high temp and med.

okay i made it 81ºF, added pennies, added medicine, & added salt. All gone!

oh yeah sorry i dont have a bala, i have a rainbow

Adding pennies doesn't do anything now.
