I noticed some white spots on 2 of my platies. I have a net breeder with 15 platy fry in it. If I use an Ick treatment will it harm the fry? Or could the Ick itself kill the fry?
I've got a hospital tank, I could treat the infected fish in there, or move the fry in there while I treat the whole tank. What would be the best action?

Hi babsrocks :)

If your fry are still healthy, why not take a chance and move them to a hospital tank? If you don't and they catch ich, they might not survive.

Ich meds never harmed my fry I never bother to remove them. Like st cichlid said Ich guard 2 is special for weak and smaller fish.

I have Wardley Ick Away. It says under "Caution: Do not use on Baby Fish" I have never had to use it, so far, so I do not know for a fact how it would effect them.

i would move the fry to the hospital tank and treat the entire main tank for ich - although only 1 fish is showing signs of it, they could all get it, even if the infected fish is removed :(
