I HAVE BEEN TREATING FOR ICH FOR 5 DAYS AND SOME OF THE SPOTS SEEM TO BE MOVING TO THE EDGE OF THE TAILS..DO I KEEP ON TREATING INDEFINITELY? I DONT WANT THE MEDICINE TO DO THEM MORE HARM

THANKS

Treat as per directions. I usually continue treatment for about 10 days after ALL the spots are gone. This disease has several stages and the only time the med works is when the disease is in the free swimming stage (no you cant see them). So inorder to make sure i get most of the little devils i continue for the extra time. HTH :)

THE DIRECTIONS SAY - NORMAL DOSAGE 24 HOURS
EXTENDED DOSAGE - 3 DAYS
PROLONGED DOSAGE - 5 DAYS

I think they are wrong. It should be AT LEAST a week, because of ich's life cycle.

And btw, could you PLEASE not type in capital letters?

P.T.

its called esha exit whitespot treatment

(also does anyone know how do you post pictures on here..my angelfish has a ripped fin and i want to see if anyone knows if its finrot)
thanks

this may answer the pic question. I think that if you have done the treatment for the five days then observe for another 5 days to see if all the ich disappears and if it does not then redose(they may say on the instructions if you can redose and if you can how long you have to wait). But do not put any carbon back into your filter until you have finished the treatments or at least 10 days after you last see spots. This disease will keep coming back to haunt you if you do not completely remove it. Good Luck and keep us posted. :)
