Be careful to read any labels; some treaments can harm the filter bacteria.
As your pH is over 6.5 you can be a bit more aggressive with the medication as the higher the pH the less toxic the medication is to fish. We would suggest that you increase the dosage by 50%. The easiest way to do this is to treat with the normal dosage every day for the full 6 days. We can only think that your fish have contracted a particularly virulent strain of the disease. Increasing the dosage should sort it out.
I use malachite green but I treet for more days than they say to, up to 9 days. So far it has always worked. With malachite green you have to remove carbon from your filter. Many other meds require this. If you didn't remove the carbon that will weaken the effect of some meds. Don T.
Have you got good water movement at your tanks surface?
If you've increased your tanks temp as most whitespot meds require it may be a lack of oxygen....
Today I notice that the barb, along with the other fish, aren't moving around as much. They are basically just staying in one spot?? And at the top of the tank.
What is going on?
Please, I could use some insight.
Erm...me neither.
If you can try and increase surface movement by adjusting your filter, the movement at the surface created by your bubbles will increase aeriation but not as much as good water flow.
Or is the filters flow already at the waters surface?
Or, if it was me (not a good recommendation really) i'd put a household fan blowing on to the waters surface, this'll increase the surface movement and therefore the aeriation (i think).
Are you 100% they have ICH and have you checked your water stats nitrite, nitrate, ammonia etc.

Mine did this also, I put it down to less than optimal water parameters. i.e. high temperature, not being able to do water changes, comparatively strong chemicals from the medication. It is pretty much a case of the lesser of two evils, I certainly don't think the cure is worse than the disease. My advice is keep checking for spots, and try to see that they eat.
