Ich Medication - I Dont Think It's Working?

Since that cardinal died, I only have cardinals with very mild cases now.

I've not done any water changes since I started medicating and although I've not tested, I'd imagine my nitrate levels are building up a bit now. Is it okay to do a big water change tomorrow, or should I wait until the problem is completely gone?

Checked the manual for your fluval 205 external filter, there are 2 bags of carbon in the bottom of the filter. Carbon stops your meds working.

The carbon's not in my filter, I added different media instead.

Just checking, I'm having the same trouble with white spot, it's a nightmare. Got 2 infected clown loache and just noticed my Tiger oscar getting spots too.

i always treated ich with higher heat and salt.. worked everytime

Hi, I was just wondering about the the kind of salt you used and what quantity. Have had a bad iche problem for about a month and cant get it shifted.

Just normal aquarium salt. I think i used 2 - 3 tablespoons per 5 gallons. Along with the temperature increase to 29-30 degrees it did the trick. There are a few articles about it online.

this is a good one

Just thought y'all might like to know that the ich appears to have cleared up now. Gonna keep dosing for a few more days as per the instructions, then do big water change(s) on Friday.

Question: I plan on changing as much of the tank water as possible on Friday, maybe in more than one water change. Is it still necessary to put carbon in the filter since I'll be removing 99.9% of the meds anyway?
