Fish Fanatic
My little discus family of 5 get these little white spots their fins and body every so often, usually when I tend to over feed and not adjust water changes according to the over feeding...Bad hali, i know.
None of my other fish get it, just them. The first time it happened is was fungus. The tiny little spots progressed to small patches in a matter of like 3 days before i could tell what it was.
So i just got API Fungus Cure and it cleared up in a few days.
Now i just keep a box handy because it's cheap and it progresses so frikken FAST!
But during the first day or two when i FIRST see it I automatically think its ICH and get scared, even tho they're the only ones with the spots.
So i was wondering if there were any key signs to distinguish the two early on.
I've never had to deal with ICH so i don't know what it looks like, i've seen pictures but it's not like, a 3D image. Usually i try to see if the spots actually protrude the body [they're super tiny so i can't tell if it's cottony or not]
but i don't know if that's even a reliable sign.
ALSO, one of my discus has seemed s little stressed lately, she's dark and she stays at the back of the tank and looks thin and doesn't eat. I checked the parameters and ammonia, nitrate, nitrites are all at 0.. PH is good. It was around 6.0. My water 's super hard but it's always been that way. I'm contemplating on getting an RO system...
I brought the temp up to like 82-84 i tried hand feeding her she just kinda looks at it.... I don't have any stress coat or stress zyme so i just put some conditioner in...Seems like the same thing to me..
Any pointers?
