I would like to be informed before ICH becomes a problem for me.

I have the 29 gallon tank with orniments and gravel and air stones and bio-wheel filter, when and if ICH enters my tank, I (already bought SUPER ICH PLUS) so I don't need to run to the store on find it is out of stock, I bought before that happens.

My meds have Benzablehyde Green and povidone ingredients, and says to remove the carbon in the filter, let the filter continue to run, add right amount per gallon and leave for 48 hours, and do a 25% water change and then add same meds for another 48 hours before adding back a carbon filter cartridge.

Ok I can do that when I need to , but I wonder, it is a must to get rid of plants, boil all the orniments, either get rid of the gravel, or boil that too... what about air stones, and also inside the filter... do I do a super scrub down, or does the meds clean it out of the tank as well?

I just didn't wanna panic when it happens, so being informed before hand would be cool... I already read the pinned ICH info, but what I need to know most is if i need to ride the tank itself of ich with a super scrub down.

TIA

Ich is everywhere - you can't get rid of it, any more than cold germs in humans. But ich tends to affect fish who's immune systems are a bit run down so prevention means keeping their water as good as possible (do fishless cycling before you introduce them), keeping their temperature in the correct range and being careful when moving fish or changing things.

If your fish can tolerate it, salt is a good preventative, so is keeping the temperature a little higher (82F).
