Lovely helen....i had 3 in my tank when i had them and that was ok i was told by a very well known good Lfs....they never fought ever !!!! Enjoy him lol now u now ur gonna be addicted to snakeheads hahaha
nice puffer but i wouldn't put in the tank with ther fish it won't do much 4 about a week then the fins will have nips the it dissapears then dead fish

as hels said they are aggressive and unless they are an established pair (i.e. you put 6 in a tank, a pair forms and they try and kill the ones left over) then you would not be able to keep more than one channa in one tank.
It is generally said that they do best in a species tank but there are exceptions. Generally don't put them with any fish thats smaller than half the size of the snakehead (i say two thirds to be safe) and nothin that has long fins, or is of a 'nervous disposition' and also nothing that looks like another snakehead. Also I would imagine nothing too aggressive because you don't want a fish that tries to attack the snakehead, as it's unlikely that the snakehead will give up without a fight.
But anything that you put with them is a risk, personally I keep my channa gachua (basically the same as channa bleheri just not as colourful) with a (full grown) male BN, and I think that they are about as safe as you can go with 'dwarf' channas.
