Well my dad was CONSTANTLY hounding me to get a saltwater tank, but i simply refused all the time. Now hes gone i feel like if i had one i would feel abit closer to him.
I have decided it will just be a small reef tank, prob with just 1 clown fish and cleaner things.
I read how to set it up, but i didnt understand most of it. I am one of them people that needs pictures to understand.
So if someone could help me out that would be great.

So how come at lfs's all i see is filters and heaters?
I dont know what a skimmer or Sump is and i have never seen one
would i need it for a 23 Gal?

No you don't need it sam.... not really. I'll be on IRC today at about 9am our time (GMT-5). Find me and we'll talk about it. I can tell you all about what has been done to mine, which is a 20g long.

a sump is a good idea as it'll increase your water volume and give a more stable environment - but its not a nesesity.

as for a skimmer... again, a good idea but not a must.

If your going for a reef, live rock is the main method of filtering.
