am going to be seting up my 65 gal tank soon and would like to get somthing abit diffrent from the normal fish ppl keep

i like the armoud bichir but have read that they like tanks no deeper than 1 foot
my tank is 2 foot deep would this still be suitable or should i look for somthing else

any ideas would be much appreciated

and pics would be great

thanks mj

I see no problem with keeping a species of Bichir in their like P.senegalus or P.Delhezi, how long is your tank?

As long as the bichir can easily get to the surface to breathe the there will be no problem with the tank. The reason many people recomend shallower tanks for bichirs is that often floating plants are used to dim the tank so that the nocturnal bichirs may come out and about in daylight, if the bichir becomes tangled in the plants on its way to the surface it could drown in a deeper tank, as long as you keep the surface free then a tank that is 2 feet deep will be fine.

my tank is about 4 foot long 2 foot high and 1 foot wide with a bow shaped front

also my lighting is very bright so i proberbly will not get to see it very much if its nocturnal

any other suggestions for fish i could get
