Thanks for posting those. The tank has a look I really like. It's also the kind of tank I believe makes fish feel very secure and unstressed. I had a similar tank with dwarf puffers in it and the tall plants allowed them to create territories and stay out of each others way.

Lovely shots!
thankyou!

i knew i wouldn't have much time for heavy maintenance on the tank, so when I adapted the existing setup i designed it around minimal maintanence and maximum looks. Easy to clean filters, easy to trim plants. I'll admit i've never cleaned the gravel in a proper fashion. I remove large clumps of debris, but leaves are left to return to the gravel. No ill effects at all. It's able to maintain a perfect balance with water changes of 15/15/15/40 on a 4 week rotation. It looked awfully barren at first but as the plants started to spread it gradually became better and better.

That's good news for people just starting in the hobby, or who are on a limited budget of money or time...it's a tank they could pull off and have look really nice.

it takes a month or two after the initial cycling is finished and all the fish are added for this whole process to start, but yes, i agree. If you want i'll put up a itinery of the tank, it's stock, it's equipment and how it's working out

I think that would be great. I think it would help people to make something similar. Planted tank journals would be the right forum for the job. Thanks for doing that (when you get a chance with exams)!

I will start asap, saves wasting "study peiods"

Ahhhh!

Lyra, you have a habit of wanting the plants I'm thinning out. Just pulled out a clump of vallis a few hours ago. Mine were covered in BBA (I think), but since I put in the water lettuce, its disappeared and the vallis is flourishing again.

Some impressive chains there Blubble
