I Think Peter Burnt Himself!

hi all just need a helpful person really is it possible that a common pleco can burn itself.??
Peter has taken to hideing beside the heater some times really getting between it and the glass... i have just noticed this large sore looking thing on his back...it is white and looks to me like a bun on a humen just white not red... is this possible or any other suggestions he is about 3" but the burn looks like the size of a broad bean..any help appreciated

If he got himself wedged between the heater and glass when the heater turned on and didn't move, he may well have burnt himself.

been trying for 10 mins but can safetly say no hope in hell of him keeping still to take a photo lol
looks really sore tho and i think definatly a burn any ideas as to how i can heal it?? dont look quite so nasty as a couple of days ago but still very white

I'm afraid heater burns are quite common with catfish or any fish with sucker type mouth. Though doesn't exclude others. For some reason fish don't seem to feel the heat and will hang onto the glass heaters (or next to them) getting badly burnt. Which can lead to all sorts of nasty infections. Best to treat with bacterial medication such as Melafix and buy a heater guard to prevent future accidents. Best of luck

yup i was gonna suggest melafix and a heather guard just like bloo. Good Luck

Try Primafix.. its 10 times better at healing that its brother Same maker as Melafix.. I'm suprised so little people have tried it yet. Ive given Melafix the boot big time after using this
