I Think My Cory Is Pregnant Urgent Help Needed!

i think i can see black eggs in its belly but i am not sure please help if she is pregnant and how can i make sure i keep the eggs and get the babies please help!!??

If you are wanting to keep them, then you need to seperate the parents from the rest of the fish in the tank. Once they have spawned and she has layed the eggs, then you need to remove the parents and put an airstone on the under the eggs to for circulation. This will keep the eggs from getting fungused. Keep in mind the filter will need to be removed because the fry will be very small when they hatch and the filter will get them. Due to this, daily water changes and tank maintence are very important. Your best bet is to set-up a spare tank for them (only remove filter from the spare tank, not the main community tank)

Another way to do it, though I dont reccomend it, is to get a breeding net. Once the fish have laid the eggs (after couple hours to allow the eggs to firm up), you can put the eggs in the net. Place the net in the flow from the filter. Its best to remove the bottom framing of the net so they fry dont get stuck. I just left the top and the supports on the side. I have had some success, not great though, with this method. It allows the fish to stay in the tank in which they were layed. I would only use this method if you cannot set-up another tank for them.

You need to think about what you are going to feed the fry when they hatch. I sometimes use microworms. You can get some ready to feed cultures off of aquabid. I have started using Boyd's Vita Diet lately because its a very small crumble and its full of nutrients. Some people use baby brine shrimp too. The fry seem to start eating flake food and frozen blood worms sooner.

I have a tank at the inute which i have guppy fry in i can take them out and put the in a breeding net for the cories to have a tank for themselves should i do that and will i need a pot or something along the lines so that the cories can lay there eggs in there.?

The tank with the guppy fry, how long has it been running? How big is it? What kind of substrate?

The cories will just lay the eggs all over the glass. Dont worry, from what I can see, these are Bronze C. Aeneus. Once they start spawning, then they should spawn often for you. If something goes wrong this time, then you should have another chance

EDIT: How many of each species do you have? It almost looks like you have a Bronze C. Aeneus and a peppered cory in that picture

Keep in mind, female C. aeneus will look like that all the time if they are well fed....

they are well fed but i meen i can see black dots in her belly and the others don have that and in the guppy fry tank has been running for a couple of months now and it has pea gravel and it is about 8 litre.

I dont think what you are seeing are "babies." First off, the eggs are not fertile while they are still in the female. The eggs are white until they are fertilized by the male. The eggs then get some color to them after that once the fry starts to develop.

EDIT: You also didnt answer the question on how many of each cory you have. Not trying to make a smart comment, but you have to have both male and female with cories. Its not like with guppies or other live bearers where you can buy the fish already pregnant. The cories will have to do everything while in your tank...

Thats what I was trying to explain, but in way to where it was easier to understand.

I think he thinks they are livebearers since they obviously know how to raise guppy fry. The dark spot on her belly could be a disease or infection of some kind. Its very unlikely that your corys will spawn due to the fact of ur stocking list. U have 2 of each type of cory which i believe isnt the best combination. Sorry if my comment seems mean, i dont mean for it to be.

No it is definately not a disease i've checked that so many times and they are in my big tank not my little tank so they are fine with the other fish.

Chances are they are female and full of eggs then
