I Think It's Fungus.

One of my Mollies is showing some white cotton wool-like 'growths' on both side fins and tail. I think it's fungus. What's the best way to progress? The other fish are showing no signs yet. Any advice welcome.

2 issues here really treatment and prevention

treatment, i've used pimafix before and it clears it up no problem.

however prevention can be tricker depending what else is in your tank, have a read of this pinned topic

I have neons in the tank too so I'm reluctant to add salt. Will the medication you mention affect them?

Thanks for such a fast response. I've only noticed the fungus today so it appears to progress quite quickly.

salt is fine with neons, it's catfish and loaches you need to worry about with salt

pimafix i believe is safe for all fish.

yes fungus can take hold very quickly, you need to be on the ball treating it.

and be warned if you don't keep mollies in brackish water it will keep coming back
