I think I may have a big problem...

If you have regular power outages for up to weeks long as you said ,I would be thinking about a small diesel/petrol generator that you can get an electrician to put a connection point on to your house that will run all the sockets...
All I heard was $$$$$$

So where did you pull 'like 9 hours' from? Experience?
Your post also suggests that you are yet to stock your tank. Again, an over-stocked tank is more fragile and harder to rescue when emergencies hit. An under-stocked tank would be easier to save.
All of the suggestions offered so far would see your fish safer for at least 24 hours, assuming you're not in the middle of a cold, cold winter.
I will tell my mom about the car batteries not being land mines. She can be a little "overly-cautious" at times... But she's my mom, its her job to be concerned and cautios I guess.

Well... She still said no. But its fine ill just care for an aquarium the VERY old fashioned way during a power outage. I just got some filter media and... The test kit! Yipee... But then my mom said: "So, were painting the front room and you cant fill the tank until thats done." In my mind I was screaming but in reality I just went: "Ok mom"

I used a bicycle pump and some airline with an airstone. I put the airstone in the tank and used the pump to push air into it. Just get a plastic airline joiner and put it in the end of the bike pump, and attach the airline to the joiner.

The bike pump should have a fitting for French Valves, so the airline joiner fits in the hole. If you have a car valve fitting in the pump it is too big for the airline joiner.

During last year's evacuation from Hurricane Laura, I lost all power at my house for 6 full days. Most of my fish lived through it (not all), and what helped was surface agitation, since my filters weren't running.

For that surface agitation, I used battery powered air pumps, connected to an air hose and air stone. There are very inexpensive ones on Amazon, but they also sell them at WalMart, for live-bait wells for fishing. See links below.

Fish don't need light to survive, and most plants can go many days with only ambient light, as described above.

If power cuts were a regular occurrence I’d be considering temperate water fish myself. One less thing to worry about.
True... I think I should be ok... I may just be over concerned... But when Dorian hit us, we lost power for 1 whole day. But in the past where I live people have lost power for weeks

Best of luck mate.
Ive a bunch of The Carolina’s little Mosquito Fish breeding away happily in the corner over here. Their fins are crossed for you all over there.

Thanks... I'm sure we'll be ok. All the hurricanes that have hit (so far) have been fairly mellow except for Florence which flooded a lot of roads, trapping people. But we were lucky enough to not be in those zones... And we took a hurrication up to Pennsylvania to avoid it. I just pray that when I have my tank the power never goes out 😬

Today, after thinking about yesterday I'm now glad that my mom said not to fill the tank. I have some sort of sickness (I'm 79% sure its not covid) and I dont have the energy to barely do a thing; so if I put the water in yesterday I wouldnt be able to do a thing to it today. It also gives me time to look at cheaper prices and save for the other supplies for after the cycle. So hopefully we paint the front room soon and hope I heal up soon.
