I Think I Got The Wrong Fish

hello everyone,

I went to a couple local fish stores and told them I had a 75g tank (48"x22"x18" if I remember correctly) And that I wanted to get some fish. At one store I bought 3 small jewel cichlids (about 1.-1.5") and a 4" pleco. I went into the second store, told them what I already had and they sold me two gold severums and a firemouth. When I got home I started looking around online and it seems that these fish shouldn't be together. now I'm trying to figure out what to do, will they be ok together or should I take some of them back?

If by Jewel cichlids you mean the african cichlids (H. bimaculatus) you'll want to get them out asap. They are mean as all get out and will cause stress or kill the others in there.

A: take back everything but one of those species

B: see if it works (pry wont) and wait it out.

The jewels are africans, but I've heard there are a couple of types of african jewels. I might have to pull the jewels and either take them back or move them to another tank. Now I need to decide what to replace them with.
